In the past 25 years, I have benefitted immensely from being mentored by some amazing leaders in technology, data science, and climate science.
I’ve transitioned from being mentored to becoming a mentor to junior staff, to leading small teams, to directing branches and a division within the organization.
I’ve successfully coordinated multiple project teams in both waterfall/traditional project management and in Agile and Scaled Agile Framework structures.
I proudly bring a pragmatic, people-first, empathic leadership style with me to my next career.
Whether you subscribe to the Seven eLements of leadership (Laugh, Learn, Listen, Language, Lagniappe, Legacy, Love), or the Five Pillars (Vision and goal setting, Effective communication, Building and nurturing relationships, Decision-making and problem-solving, Adaptability and continuous learning), or another blueprint, know that I’ve studied many leadership frameworks and settled on one that works best for me:
Respect and Communicate with Empathy and Curiosity.
Own both the successes, and the failures.
